The Beaujolais Run
Spectators are welcome at Brands Hatch on Tuesday 16th November from 0830hrs.
At approximately 0900hrs, the first ever Surtees F1 car, which ran for the first time in the British Grand Prix at Brands Hatch in 1970 will perform demonstration laps of the circuit.
At 0910hrs, Nigel Mansell OBE will take up the role as starter of the 2010 ‘Run, ably supported by John Surtees OBE and Dr Jonathan Palmer.
All 3 British ex F1 drivers will then take to the grid with the competitors for three laps of the Indy circuit before teams head to France.
The Beaujolais Run is a not for profit event, which this year will raise much needed funds for the newly formed Henry Surtees Foundation under the direction of the ‘Run’s patron John Surtees. Having already clinched world titles on two wheels, it was 50 years ago this year that Surtees switched to four-wheel racing. In celebration of John’s achievements 2010 will, for the first time, see touring motorbikes able to enter the ‘Run alongside an impressive array of vehicles old and new.
Booking is not required. Simply arrive at the gate on the morning of Tuesday 16th November 2010 and make a charity donation - minimum £5 per car.
We hope that you can join us at Brands Hatch to celebrate the launch of this unique event.
For those of you unable to join us at Brands Hatch, track the teams online and view video diary footage at www.beaujolaisrun.com from Tuesday 16th November 2010.
