Sponsored Climb of Mount Kilimanjaro
Natasha Edwards is one of 30 students from Newcastle University who will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. Natasha is a friend of Leonora Surtees and wanted to raise money in memory of Leonora’s brother Henry. Any money raised will be donated to Headway Tunbridge Wells & District.
Mount Kilimanjaro is the fourth tallest of the seven summits of the world, at 5,895 metres. The climbers will experience huge temperature variations throughout the climb ranging from 40 degrees centigrade at the base to -20 degrees centigrade at the summit.
Natasha says “I’ve obviously never attempted anything like this before and I’m really excited about taking on the challenge. I will be staying in Tanzania for a month after the climb, volunteering to help build a school for the local children”.
