Podium for Henry Surtees
It has been a long time coming but a podium was very welcome for Henry Surtees at Silverstone on 31 August 2008 in a race which was run in atrocious conditions. After qualifying poorly in 15th place after problems, he came through to finish 3rd.
Other young driver excitement has been the success of Oliver Turvey who runs under the Racing Steps Foundation programme for which we act. Oliver is now leading the British Formula 3 Championship with all to be decided at Donington on 12 October 2008.
Oliver’s success has brought him the opportunity through the Racing Steps programme to have a test drive in a Renault World Series car and also GP2.
The Racing Steps Foundation will continue to support James Calado who is in the Renault UK Championship, and a selection process is underway to select a further driver to be supported in 2009.
