Henry went to Brno feeling confident that, with the last A level exam out of the way and some knowledge of the circuit he had got in a Formula Masters car earlier in the year, he stood a very good chance of lifting himself up in the Championship with possible podiums.

Formula 2 takes to the track
The first two rounds of the reintroduced FIA Formula 2 Championship took place at Valencia. Car number 7 carrying the Surtees Formula 2 colours from its Championship winning year of 1972 was driven by Henry Surtees.

The competitors had to deal with extremely strong winds largely head on at Hanger Straight. Rain was threatening all day and came after the two main sessions for each of the two groups had been held.

Surtees name returns to Formula 2
Henry Surtees has confirmed his participation in F2 after a busy 2008, having competed in the Formula Renault UK Championship and Winter Series along with racing in two British Formula 3 National Class races at the end of the season.

An Exciting Week for Henry Surtees
Half-term has brought an exciting week for young driver Henry Surtees. Following on the success in his one off drive in F3 at Donington in the final British Championship race, he was invited for 2 days of testing at Snetterton where he set fastest ever times for the Carlin team in their junior car.

Podium for Henry Surtees
It has been a long time coming but a podium was very welcome for Henry Surtees at Silverstone on 31 August 2008 in a race which was run in atrocious conditions. After qualifying poorly in 15th place after problems, he came through to finish 3rd.

Farewell Formula BMW and thanks
Eight podiums - including a fine second place at Knockhill in the final race of the season - and its farewell Formula BMW for Henry Surtees. Plans for the rest of the year and 2008 season are currently being finalised, so watch this space. Anyone want to buy a race-winning FB02 FBMW race car?

Surtees heads to Knockhill for Championship decider
With seven podiums - including a win at Donington from seventh on the grid - Henry is looking forward to revisiting Knockhill for the final rounds of the Formula BMW UK Championship on 1 and 2 September.

Despite disqualification from the second qualifying session for a minor technical infringement, Surtees battled on to take third in race one and an excellent eighth - from the back of the grid - in race two with "the drive of the day".
