Formula One legend receives the Kent Invicta Award
Former Formula One world champion, John Surtees OBE, has been presented with this year’s Kent Invicta Award for his outstanding work with Kent’s young people through motorsport.

 

Segrave Trophy
On Thursday 7 March 2013 the Royal Automobile Club awarded the historic Segrave Trophy to John Surtees OBE. The 2012 Segrave Trophy citation reads: For his outstanding career in two and four wheeled motorsport, including seven motorcycle world championship titles, culminating in the unique achievement of being the only man to win a motorcycle World Championship and the Formula One World Championship.
 

 

 
 

 

A Tribute to Henry Surtees from Jonathan Palmer
Henry Surtees died on Sunday 19 July 2009 following a tragic accident at Brands Hatch whilst competing in round eight of the 2009 FIA Formula Two Championship. Henry’s cruel death robbed the sport of a delightful, honest and popular young man whose talent suggested a bright career lay ahead of him.

 

John Surtees receives OBE

John Surtees is one of the sporting giants included in the Queen's Birthday Honours list published on Saturday 14 June 2008. John – who was already awarded an MBE in 1959 – receives an OBE for services to motorsport and charity.
